African Ethnic Art

African ethnic art, which we collect, and which are part of my South African/Zimbabwe background, were the initial inspiration of my art practice.   The sculptures, masks, fabrics, tattoos and Khasa designs still subtly inform most of my work.  I absolutely love these works, their magic, their mystery, their form –  some crude and immediate – some amazingly sophisticated  and realistic.  I have no doubt  these tribal images will recur in some form in the future.
